Diwali, or the festival of lights, is of great importance in the Hindu faith. Diwali is observed during the Hindu month of Kartik’s new moon night, or Amavasya. Diwali in2024 falls on 31st October. The festival represents the triumph of good over evil and of light over darkness.

It so happens that Lakshmi Puja’s best time falls on the Pradosh Kaal on October 31, from 5:12 PM to 7:43 PM. Traditionally, Lakshmi Puja takes place during Amavasya Tithi and Pradosh Kaal.
Lakshmi Puja Muhurat during Diwali 2024
Lakshmi Puja on Diwali 2024 can be performed between 6:56 PM to 8:27 PM on October 31. This Puja falls during Pradosh Kaal, hence it has the additional significance of the Puja. Then there is Nishita Muhurta, which falls on October 31 between 11:39 PM to November 1, 12:31 AM. Vrishabha Kaal is the last one, falling between 6:00 PM to 7:59 PM on October 31.
Diwali 2024 Celebrations
Diwali comprises of five-day celebration of Dhanteras, till the end of Bhai Dooj. Houses are neatened and decorated, diyas lit, and prayers offered to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha for wealth and wisdom. Colorful patterns made at entrances and fire crackers light up the night sky. Sweets and gifts are exchanged to enforce love and gratitude.
